Many find Ysoki somewhat unsettling- a humanoid rat the size of child, even a well-dressed one, is not something most people find welcome in their lives. Many ysoki would shrug and wear concealing robes or otherwise try to stay out of sight and out of mind.

Not Akkit.

Akkit is bulky for a ratfolk, and his dense fur makes him look even bigger than he really is. But that is not what makes him stand out- it is his choice of decorations. First and foremost is the horned skull he wears as a helmet, the bone polished and carved with strange knotwork. The skull seems to have originally come from some sort of herd-beast with large, curling horns, but it different enough from the local breeds of sheep and goat that no-one is quite sure what the original owner was.

In addition, Akkit's dense fur has little charms of carved horn woven into it in places, and is dyed in strange patterns in others. His hands are dyed ochre to the wrists, and patterns of blue and dull red swirl up his arms and around his ratlike tail. While dull enough to not leap out from his fur, the patterns only add to his unsettling image. Typically, the ysoki will also wear a serviceable hauberk of leather scales that he claims to have made himself, though when safely away from fighting he's been known to wear everything from drab robes to noble finery 'adjusted' to his small frame and adorned with his usual grisly accoutrements. The only obvious weapon the ysoki carries is a hunting crossbow, a fine weapon inlaid with horn carvings.

The only other thing Akkit carries that could conceivably called a weapon is a sturdy iron teapot. Most commonly, the ysoki uses the teapot for its intended purpose- though what the ysoki considers 'tea' is a question perhaps best unasked. Most of the rest of the ratfolk's belongings are piled on the back of  a sturdy, shaggy mountain pony that the ysoki often rides. Named Vijeta, the pony's tack and harness includes the same thick leather scales that Akkit's own armour does, layered to protect the pony's vulnerable neck and flanks. The sturdy beast's saddlebags are loaded with not only a variety of tools, but rolls of hide, odd bones, and anything else that Akkit thinks will help with his craft- or just likes the look of.

Nesting in a pouch hanging from the pony's flanks is a strange little beast. Looking to all the world like a round-eared rabbit with a tapered snout, the little animal seems to be made of pure muscle and doesn't seem afraid of anything- nor does any animal seem to be willing to mess with it, despite the fact it would make a tasty meal for a badger or hawk. Indeed, the little beast has been seen chasing dogs away from Akkit on occasion. Akkit is clearly quite fond of the little animal.
