Garin serves Christolfe faithfully, though, often without much pleasure. His sharp mind and bold attitude have won many battles for Uthea and his willingness to serve the crown has pushed him to commit even atrocities at his king's command. He is a man of tradition and great discipline but is quick to lose patience with impetuousness.

Born the younger brother of King Christolfe, Garin was raised to be a loyal and competent warrior to best serve the crown. He spent almost as much time in the chapel as he did learning swordsmanship and strategy alongside his brother.

When their father died, Garin proved Christolfe's truest ally, commanding his forces against any who would test his strength. During times of peace, he trained his castle guard and did his utmost to be as worthy a teacher to Prince Robin as his own teachers had been. Aside from his faith, watching his brother's children grow was his sole comfort, being childless himself, although he is not wont to show this.

Of late, Garin has often been the face of Christolfe's iron fist, hunting starving bandits, brutalizing Uthea's weaker neighbors and, it is said, even putting rebellious villages to the torch. Though he has no love for such acts, he shows no sign of faltering in his duty.
