Born in 1969, at a hospital in Milan Italy, Esmee' Monet is the daughter of American Ambassador to Moldova, Lawrence Monet, and his young wife Danielle Delacroix (daughter to the Marquis de Delacroix).
Her early life as the daughter of a United States Ambassador was secluded and insular.  She was a sickly child, with many food allergies, and an acute sensitivity to the sun.  The old adage about burning and peeling, was an endless cycle of misery for the young girl. Still she had her books, and spent many a day in quiet study.

Her father, loved her very much, but was overly focused on his career.
Her mother Danielle, was a vain woman, concerned more with appearances.  Like many women of her class and generation, she found motherhood to be a chore best left to servants, and tutors.

From the ages of 9-16, Esmee made her way in a series of boarding schools in Romania, Belgium, Dubai, Japan and The UK. Frankly she found the Boarding Schools to be both calming and nurturing compared to her parent's life of stuffy parties and hidden, volatile arguing.  With time, interest and mentoring from her new Academic family; who added horse-riding, swimming and fencing lessons to her repertoire, she overcame her early limitations, gaining skill and much needed confidence. Her senior year was spent at a finishing school in Paris, before Esmee' earned her place at Cambridge where she studied Anthropology, and Linguistics, with the goal of becoming a professor.

Exposure to a series of Supernatural incidents in College; and the discovery of a enigmatic, and previously unknown older brother has left Esmee' much changed. After meeting a kindred spirit in Karen Anderson; and attending the training program at Quantico, Esmee has shifted her focus to the pursuit of Justice, and hopefully, answers. Losing both the approval of her parent's for her change in career path, and Karen Anderson to an ill-fated adventure in Europe, she finds herself slightly adrift.
