Darrin Cain

"Slightly off" is how most describe Darrin Cain, when he was a detective.  His personal afflictions, had been a negative mark for him throughout his years in law enforcement.  If it weren't for his knack of solving impossible cases others failed at, he would likely have been asked to leave quietly and without fanfare.

A tall man, nearly 6', Derringer Brutus Cain is athletic, with more "go muscles, than show muscles".  He keeps his dark hair cut short, but doesn't style it.  Scruffy five o'clock shadow perpetually darkens his face, while bright green eyes burn with intellectual intensity.

Darrin is a veteran of The D.C. Metro PD vice squad, who left the department in 2011 to work for the FBI's Clandestine Affairs Unity. A quiet man, Darrin Cain carries himself with an air of seriousness, as he bears a heavy weight on his shoulders that he is always mindful of.
His abilities are often more of a curse than a boon.  As a result of his condition, Darrin has a phobia of physical touching, that has gotten worse, as his powers have grown.  He often wears long sleeves, and pants, even in hot weather, and always wears a pair of thin leather gloves on his hands.

After serving with the FBI for a few years, he was put on a case to solve the murder of fellow consultant, Eliza Arlington.  Eliza was the heir to the fortune of a powerful magical family.  She was murdered ritually by cultists, and the case nearly drove Darrin insane.  He learned the murders were committed with a set of ritualized daggers that had been passed between serial killers for hundreds of years.  Darrin eventually left the FBI to pursue the daggers, and prevent them from being used again.  It had in recent years become an obsession.

He currently works for himself, as a private psychic detective.
