Craig was born and raised in Shaddingham and has never been particularly remarkable.

His mates call him Prof (short for The Professor) because his Mum made him stay on to do his O levels, but his results were fairly average and he now picks up work on building sites and doing odd jobs with the rest of his friends.

For a few years in his teens it looked like he had potential as a bantam weight boxer. He was never a contender, not really, but he could handle himself and he could have maybe had a good few years on the amateur circuit before hitting his ceiling. Except as he got older he found sneaking pints in the pub and chasing girls with his friends more interesting than the training.

In fact, if you say the name Craig Connolly to most people in Shaddingham they'll know him as either Ken's boy or our Paula's youngest as both his parents are far more recognisable than young Craig.

Unless, of course, you were to mention his name to the correct people in the stands on a match day. Most of the week Craig is as unremarkable and forgotten as the rest of his generation, but when his firm is out in force he finally feels alive, and he's starting to build a name for himself amongst certain people.

All in all he's a mostly average lad from a mostly average place. Except for the deep, dark secret Craig is guarding with his life - he's fairly sure he's gay. It's a secret he'd go to great extremes to protect, and a side of himself he's only just starting to explore.
