Qvan Ibn Hamid

Qvan Ibn Hamid is something of a local legend around the town of Dimayen. Son of a local stonemason, he became a magician’s apprentice and disappeared for twenty years before reappearing as full-fledged wizard, and opened an academy with two of his companions — a Monk and a Druidess.

He is now in his seventies, though with an athletic body that would put some much younger men to shame. He evidently follows a strict exercise regime, and professes that a gifted mind deserves a healthy and performant body. At six and a half foot, he towers most people. This leads to a number of jokes at his expense, some questioning his ancestry, some suggesting a poorly worded Wish to be the greatest magician of Kelish.

His wizened face betrays his age where his body doesn’t. His skin is the colour of a well honed leather with age spots on his cheeks and large nose. His dark eyes reveal a youthful creativity, and are framed by short grey hair, a generous beard, and an extravagant moustache that anyone who has met him would instantly recognise.

When he is traveling rather than officiating as School Headmaster, Qvan wears traveling robes of sturdy silk. A heavy belt is wound tight around his waist, with a brass buckle the size of a small plate, depicting a mythical creatures chart. On his forehead, a headband of fennec fur is marked with a jade glyph. He carries a satchel or trinkets, seeming to always have something handy when it’s needed. His right forearm is clad with a shiny metal buckler, and he walks with a simple quarterstaff of ebony wood.
