Description: The eccentric billionaire owner of Icarus-Phoenix Industries and founder of Daedalus Academy. Mr. Campbell became the sole heir to his family's vast fortune when his parent's died in a plane crash in 1957. He spent his youth traveling the world, developing a reputation as a globe-trotting adventurer, pursuing a degree in archaeology. However, most of the time he made the news because of which actress, princess or model he was rumored to be seeing at the time. In 1976, Mr. Campbell was hospitalized after an accident and soon after retired from public view, becoming a recluse and spending the majority of his time at his family's estate on Long Island. He would not return to the public eye until 1989, when he adopted the 'Miracle Children' who would become Mr. Campbell's Daedalus Academy. Even then, he would remain a reclusive, highly private individual.

There are portraits at the Daedalus Academy of Abe Campbell as a young man. In them, he is a tall, broad-shouldered athletic young man with a strong jaw, a full head of neatly trimmed black hair and movie-star good lucks. The man the children knew as their father, was similar to that portrait in many ways. His hair had grayed, his shoulders were no longer as broad and his face had been weathered by the years, he also walked with a slight limp and the aid of a steel tipped black cane, with a handle in the shape of a silver, stylized eagle. However, he still possessed a strength and physical presence that commanded obedience and brooked no arguments.

Mr. Campbell almost always dressed formally in suits and a tie. Always perfectly pressed and arranged. He favored black and dark blue for his suits, occasionally wearing khaki when exploring ruins or in the wilderness. Sometimes he would don a panama hat or sunglasses. When he expected a fight, he would wear a sidearm, usually a Beretta in an over the shoulder holster, though he preferred to use his cane, which also held blade sheathed within its length.

The years after the Daedalus Academy's collapse were harsher, forcing him to wear glasses to compensate for his failing eye-sight and rely more upon his cane, the weight of the world appearing to weigh heavily upon his stooped shoulders. His large hands, seemed over sized compared to his thinner wrists and arms, not that many saw him. Always a reclusive individual, without the Academy he found even less reasons to leave Daedalus Island or even his office.

To the children, he was always Mr. Campbell, never father and he always addressed the children by number, never the names that Iris had given them. While he could offer words of praise and encouragement, his criticisms were far more frequent, always pushing his wards toward perfection. Always believing they were capable of more. Only rarely did he smile, more often did he frown or shake his head in disappointment.
