Rex Karlsen

Name: Rex Karlsen

Age: 29

Gender/sexuality: Male/Straight

Where are you from?: Originally Florida, more recently Washington, DC

What do you do? (occupation): Freshly minted history professor at UCLA

What kind of place do you live in?:  University owned two bedroom apartment adjacent to campus

Appearance: Short brown hair with blue eyes, six feet tall.  While well-built and fit from running and working out, and has used the university's facilities really toning up lately. He has a deep voice, equal parts smooth and strong. He has an easy, disarming smile and can have a mischievous glint in his eyes.

He favors simple, well-made clothes where possible, many of which he’s had for years.

Personality: Rex is friendly with a big heart that in the past he has tended to give too easily.  He’s much more comfortable hanging out and getting more in-depth with one or a few people at a time compared to large gatherings.  He enjoys helping people and making them happy, basking in the reflected joy of those he likes or loves. He has a quick humor, but sometimes too quick, making jokes “too soon” in an attempt to cover awkward or unpleasant situations.  The more comfortable he is with someone, the more his humor will come out.

Likes: History and associated studies, music, movies especially older ones, stand-up, running, climbing, hiking, cooking, people in reasonable doses, finishing things.

Dislikes: Hmm…unimaginative dislikes like traffic, plans being cancelled was looking forward to, rude people, etc. Ugly landscaping, lack of effort, poor remakes, extended cold weather.

Background: Rex had a fairly normal childhood.  When he was in elementary school his parents divorced, leaving him to be raised by his mother.  While never very well off, they had enough and enjoyed life.  He was able to pursue his education and interest in history through scholarships and work, recently completing his doctorate and landing a position at UCLA.

Expected posting frequency: Every other day, hopefully more often
