Nali can be abit of a walking contradiction, incredible focus an drive towards her love of surfing, paired with an aloof, youthfully carefree nature, perhaps it was her way of copying an balancing out that focus, while she has some strong opinions she believes more in taking action then forcing your opinion down someone else's throat to feel like you have done something. Private, for most people they would never know she's an activist, it's just not something she discusses. The more you dig into Nali the more you realize her life is carefully balanced, from life in a commune free of rules, to a strict surfing competition circuit. Recently though for some reason she stopped seeing that balance an dropped it all to find herself here.

Description:
Nali is from Mauritius warm brown skin has a tropical oily complexion, her green eyes stand out as something unique within her family, a throw back from someone swimming deep down in the gene pool. She has a faded old scar on the side of her left calf which looks like it was quite deep when it happened. Cherry red lips make her stand out as being Mauritian, so she says.
She stands at 5'7 which she always thought was pretty standard if not almost short, but then there is something she never took the time to understand that if she wore high heels she would be much taller then many women she met, but she's never worn shoes, ever, back at Tamarin Bay the idea of someone wearing shoes, well why, you would just get sand in them and aren't you going surfing like everyone else. She has an surfers frame which is code for not just Abs, but Obliques an incredibly toned body, but not those muscles for show, these were those longer leaner muscles stretched with use. However that's not to say she is thin or skinny, part of a career in surfing is being healthy not just fit.
History:
While growing up she had an much older brother who was smart enough to be a doctor as a role model, the rest of the family, her included was proof that he very well may have been adopted, everyone else in the family were mad crazed surfers, it was in their blood, up at dawn for a surf types, earn enough to pay the bills just barely so there was plenty time left for surfing. She had started surfing independently at the age of 8, she had always surfed, but before then it had been with her mothers guidance.
Nali was the grommet world champion surfer at the age of 13, that was probably when she got the travel bug, she had done odd jobs ontop of working at a local Tamarin bay juice bar to earn the money to travel to the junior world championship competition, willing it had been a dream, sponsorship deals rolled in, that was a learning curve, as free spirited to a point of Naivety it could have gone either way, but she had refused many of the longer term higher paying deals which would have really locked her down, she's been fiercely loyal to the few home grown sponsors and a couple of small surfer run brands, but nothing commercial, they had paid enough to get her to competitions and to support her family back home and a that was about it.
She was too down to earth to chase more as a young woman, by Seventeen she had left home and lived in a surfer commune for a year though she doesn't talk about where it was or any deeper details then the experience being healthy, if pressed she may share how it was like minded surfers an musicians who had experienced success and shun it and the wealth that came with it, though she would almost never share that they were a collective who owned the three islands near popular surf breaks across the world. No one person owned them, there was a trust fund owned by a Dolphin called Dylan, it was all legitimate done through the correct legal channels and went into conservation of these areas and the local native tribal inhabitants, though they had been not made aware of this, land taxes paid, tourism corporations blocked, mining corps shut down, free education to any of their children who wanted it, there was encouragement towards ecological studies an environmental works certainly.
She was far more interested in parties with her friends, music like Bob Dylan, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Brittany Howard, her current favorite she stumbled across is 'Rising Appalachia- Medicine', astrology, yoga, crystals, meditation an of course surfing, she was an unofficial activist it was not something she advertised and always kept private. By Eighteen she felt a need to step away from all the influences starting to press her for more, she became even more private an cut alot of people off, she was naive but she was smart enough to know who was trying too hard to influence her. At Nineteen she won the WSL world championship and again when she was twenty one, but then she vanished from the surf carnival circuit without a world why and went on this cruise.
