Martin Roux (Roo to his friends) is a big beefy trucker who left his eye and his faith in humanity back in Da Nang. It was during the war that he learned that the government was not the advocate of the people, that Eisenhower was right in his warnings about the military industrial complex, but most importantly, about the power of brotherhood and unity in the face of overwhelming opposition.

After returning to the US he took a brief detour into an endless pit of alcohol and despair before using his GI Bill to get his commercial driver's license, and has spent the last decade as a long-haul trucker.
