Sergeant Fred Barnes is a portly, affable policeman who's good-natured personality and sense of humor have ensured that unlike most policeman, who turn quite cynical after a few years on the job, he has remained a pleasant man with a nice outlook on the world.

He's been with the force for two decades now, since he was a young man.

He's got a wide grin and ruddy complexion that makes his plump, mustached face always seem like he's sharing a good joke or hearing a funny story. A deep, melodious laugh completes the character. He often comes off as a friendly uncle, or perhaps even father.

He's nonviolent by nature, though he is not afraid to take action when he deems it necessary.

Overall just a loyal, dependable, and friendly police officer who's long used to the Hollywood scene.
