Antherisax

Name: Antherisax (Anthus Alltongue in mortal guise)

Words/gifts:
- Dragon (Second skin, Breath of death, Sinews of the serpent, Terror of the skies)
- Beasts (Eyes of the cat, Link of unity)
- Deception (Deceiver's unblinking eye)

Appearance:
Dragon:
Antherisax is a large slender, dragon with a long serpentine neck and an almost snake like cast to it's features, despite it's body being more catlike in shape and movement.
He tends to look even bigger than he is, by virtue of his dull, moss-green scales at times flaring outward making him look almost spiky. From a distance, one could be forgiven for thinking the he is covered in foliage or green fur rather than scales.
His eyes are one of his more striking features. Entirely without irises, they are solid orbs of pure white light. While this might lead one to believe he is blind, it is never in question when he looks at you. When he observes you he sees all your being, and that can be felt as very real pressure.

Humanoid:
Anthus takes the form of a tall, slender elf, a head taller than most elves, and tends to loom over others as a result. His face is thin with hawkish features and his long blonde silky hair falls down to the middle of his back. His eyes are brown, but seem to at times shift in color, darkening to be almost black when his mood sours. When he observes people, his eyes at times light up, almost flaring with light.

Personality:
Antherisax is a dour person, tending towards quiet speech, and graced with a dry, cutting sense of humor. While not antagonistic in his behaviour, he is clearly not someone who likes other people or enjoys socialising. He is capable of it, but usually comes across like he's silently judging you for something. More often than not talking to him will reveal that this is true. He tends to lighten up around animals and those few he accepts, becoming sligthly more talkative.

Recent history:
Antherisax was born with the unfortunate ability to be able to tell when someone is lying.
From as early as he can remember, he has been surrounded by the grimy feeling of all the lies, half truths and little white lies people tell themselves and others, no matter the race.
This led to a young, withdrawn dragon who sought the company of animals and the quiet of nature, finding no malicious lies there.

When old enough to go out among the mortals, Antherisax found it hard to fit in. The mortals seemed even more inclined to lie all the time than dragons, striving to deceive even their own instincts most of the time.
Once again the dragon found peace in nature, taking up the mantle of defender of the wilds from encroaching civilisation. For a long time this came in the most direct form: Violence.
Antherisax defended nature with tooth and claw, making mortals fear the dark between the trees once more. But when he was sought out by other dragons with different ambitions, he realised his methods wouldn't work forever.
Joining the other dragons, he decided to work with them in building an empire. If he worked on it from the inside he could easier influence it in the favor of nature, ensuring people respects the wilds and do not go too far with their industrialising.
His truth seeing eyes and communion with animals made him a natural fit for the role of spymaster among his peers.

Character goals:
Antherisax seeks to claim dominion over nature, keeping it safe from the dishonest, destructive mortals and his fellow dragons alike. He has realised that he is only one dragon, however, and is not strong enough to simply claim a piece of the wilds as off limits for all others. At least not yet. So for now, he seeks to lead their future empire towards respecting nature rather than levelling it to the ground.
On a more personal level, he seeks peers who he can trust. He has learned to mostly ignore small lies, understanding that most people lie daily without noticing it. even himself.
But he yearns for companions he can fully trust despite that. His paranoia makes it hard.
