Martin Mersenne died of disease in May 1624.

Martin Mersenne is something of a cipher to his casual acquaintances.  A man of few words, he carries himself as if he might have been a military man.  Tight-lipped, reserved, and careful in his bearing, he gives away little at first glance.

Youthful, but not green, he has only recently arrived in Paris seeking adventure in the service of right.
