Renné Gade is the bastard son of Pierre LaRue, an Aquitaine Gentleman and the young daugher of an inn keeper and whine merchant. After having an argument with his father, he joined a mercenary unit, where he served until the unit was decimated and he was captured, spending some time as a prisoner, until his half-brother (Mr. LaRue's heir) knew about it.

Through his half-brother mediation, he was released (though the time as prisoner took his toll in his fitness and health) and his father accepted to help him with a monthly assignation, on the condition of leaving the place. Renné left for Paris, where he expects to make fortune on his own...

Renné died in combat in February 1625
