Zara Mohandie

Description:: Zara is what in slang terms would be called a 'hot momma'. She has all the right parts in all the right places, she could wear a burlap sack down the street and heads would still turn. She's got skin like warm chocolate, amber eyes so deep you could drown in them, and every single feature of her body truly looks like it was slowly sculpted with great care by a master craftsman. Even her hair resembles a black waterfall flowing from her head past her shoulders.

Psychological Profile performed by Dr. Dorian Gray as requested by Sandra Dee: Zara seems to want everyone to see her as an angry young black woman, yet her attempts are halfhearted at best and she doesn't really seem to believe it about herself. She has every right to be I'm sure, but while Reggie seems to downplay it Zara tries to create it and poorly at that. It's possible she senses the real thing in Reggie, and either believes she should feel it too or wants to emulate his feelings because she cares about him. Perhaps she fears that if she isn't angry too, he will leave her.

Zara seems to be very intelligent, and claims to have a PhD in chemistry. Having  a doctorate myself, I can attest such is not for the slow witted. Plus I have seen her mobile lab, and if she did not honestly know what she was doing I suspect she would have blasted herself into orbit long before I met her.

For all her knowledge, Zara makes street drugs. More correctly she says she does, yet I never have seen her actually do it. Reggie likes to make out he is everyone's friend, and can get whatever they want. This fits well with a street chemist, as she can make on demand and designer drugs to fit whatever orders Reggie drums up. Still, when Sandra requested we get jobs, neither Zara or Reggie did anything. This is why they were taken by Sandra along with Susan, to investigate a case. I would think that, with a few base elements, Zara could have produced drugs for Reggie to sell easily as we were in a college town.

My suspicion is Zara got into Chemistry because it interested her, and if it were not for closed minds she would be working at a top company right now. She might tell herself that making street drugs is what she wants or is OK to do, yet I suspect her heart simply isn't in it.

Given her education and background not to mention fully equipped lab, I believe Zara will be useful to the group.

End Evaluation.

History: Zara Mohandie owes her last name to her father, who back in the 1970s 'threw away his 'slave' name'. That's all he gave her though, since after a year of drunkenly beating her mother he left one day and never returned. She has no idea what happened to him, or cares.

Zara committed two sins when she was born; she was a woman, and black. The world was beginning to open its mind to African Americans and the potential they held, yet in all the advertisements for scholarships meant for those youths all that was ever seen were male faces.

When Zara was nine years old, the newspapers and TV became flooded with pictures and images of a white five year old boy who had already completed several grades. His name was Ezra Moss, and from every lip tumbled conviction that he was destined for great things. He was already in the targets of a number of well known colleges, all of them making undertones of offering him a full paid ride.

Zara found school work boring, doing in minutes tests that took others an hour to complete. There was no fanfare for her though, no gilded offers from Ivy League schools to have her grace their hallowed halls. In fact her mother was called in multiple times, on suspicion that Zara had cheated. There were even other students who had the same scores who claimed she'd cheated off of them, when in fact the opposite was true.

Her teachers and principles wanted her to repeat grades, but Zara's mother refused to believe her daughter was guilty of what they claimed. She finally took the girl out of school when she was twelve, and would drop her off in the mornings on the way to work at the City library. The Reference Librarian at first disliked being a babysitter, but then she realized the depth of conversation Zara was capable of and instead turned into a good friend and tutor. The girl filled her days with discussion and books, happy as could be.

As soon as she could, Zara took the GED and passed it perfectly; due to this she was forced to repeat it twice, the last under heavy watch by three different people.

After this she tried to get into a college, but that meant money and all of the different groups that existed to help African Americans hung up on her when they realized she wasn't calling for her brother.

Refusing to be tossed aside, Zara found the dean of a college who liked her kind of woman. She wasn't above using whatever she could to get ahead by this point in her life, so she was more than willing to open her legs if it opened doors for her. She paid her tuition this way for one year, because by the end of that time she had her four year degree. She applied for a MAsters program, and again found those who would give her what she wanted in trade for what she had naturally. It was harder to crack into the PhD program, but given enough time her same strategy worked and she proudly strode across the stage to claim her doctorate.

Now with proof of her intelligence, Zara was all for moving forward on her own two feet as opposed to her back. She applied to various companies, including in her letters copies of test scores and other such things. She didn't hear back from a lot of them, and those who did bother to respond simply said they had no room in the Secretarial Pool at the current time but thanked her for her interest.

Things didn't look great for her, until a chance meeting happened by way of a misunderstanding; due to her method of moving forward in college, she was approached by a man named Reggie who supplied various things to a wide array of customers. This included women who were not bothered by who they took to bed given the right price, and he was there to offer her a position in his 'business' accordingly.

Zara had had enough, and though it wasn't by any means the fault of this man she went off on him in a big way. All the pressure of her life up to this point came roaring out, and she made sure he understood she only did that stuff because it was the only way to earn her education. Then she brooke down sobbing, choking out that being a doctor of Chemistry was pointless if no one saw you as one.

She expected Reggie to slap her for the way she treated him, or yell back, or anything other than what happened; his eyes grew wide, and he asked her if she really was a Doctor of Chemistry. She had little strength left but managed a nod, and he started grinning wide. He told her he had a wonderful opportunity for both of them.

His plan was for her to make one of a kind designer drugs, of which he would be the only supplier to his customer base. He was always looking for ways to expand, and this seemed a good idea to him. She would need to provide him some  samples for test sales, but then after that if all went well she'd have plenty of money and could tell all those big shot companies which part of her anatomy to kiss.

Zara was pleased at a chance to prove herself even if in this way, but she needed raw materials and that required money. Then she realized that what had served her before would again, and she took up the world's oldest profession a second time to afford start up costs.

Reggie came for the samples and left, returning only a day later grinning ear to ear and telling her what a huge success they had on their hands. He gave her part of the profit, and she was able to cook more which made them even more cash.

Eventually Reggie was offering full out and fully stocked parties with every kind of sin imaginable, included Zara's special creations. She wanted to attend some and see her drugs in action so to take mental notes and perhaps tweek the mix for the next batch, but she was afraid in the event of a raid she'd be arrested and not see sunlight for years.

Reggie provided the solution, telling her she could come as part of the entertainment. She could make a little extra cash quick, see the effects first hand, and even watch for any changes in more heated situations that simply standing around. Thgat way if there ever was a rade, she'd be booked as a street walker and nothing more.

Zara loved the idea, since she got to use the world's bigotry finally to her advantage. She tried it out and everything went smoothly, so she kept up the pretense.

That was how she happened to be at a rather large underground party, when even over the pounding music she heard screaming. She looked to see, something, tearing through the party goers. It mowed through person after person like they were nothing, no one managed to get close to one of the doors. Zara knew she was dead if she tried a plain out escape, so she got to one of the tables loaded with drugs and booze.

The thing came screaming at her, right when she'd fashioned a crude weapon from what was on hand. It hit the creature and spurted into flame, but was mostly smoke. It mostly missed her but she still got knocked down, knowing that her distraction was not going to buy her much time. Her only thought was to grab at anything on the floor around her to try for something more dangerous, but sahe knew it was a hopeless gesture.

The monster screeched and was running back toward her, she was bracing herself for death when suddenly she heard gunshots; she looked up to see Reggie standing between her and the beast, blasting away with a revolver. He managed to drive it off, the hulk smashing through a wall and disappearing. He was in something of a shocked state, since the gun was empty but he kept pulling the trigger.

Zara got to her feet and grabbed his shoulder. She managed over the loud music to tell him they needed to get out of there, fast. While it was possible that creature could come back, her more immediate fear was someone finding them among all the dead. She had no doubt that she and Reggie would be blamed, have the book thrown at them, and be sealed in the darkest hole possible for the rest of their lives in not legally killed. There was no way to explain how they killed so many people, nor were they in possession of a weapon that could do the kind of damage the bodies had taken; however dumping it all on them was open and shut, they could spend their illegal profits of high price lawyers, but even they might push for a plea deal.

Reggie agreed readily, adding that with the messsy way everyone died it would take some time for everyone to be identified which would buy them time. He agreed to meet her at her van, which she used as a portable means to conduct bth of her professions.

She was ready when he arrived in his aging El Dorado, having made a quick stop only to grab his nest egg as she as well had done. Then they drove long and far, allowing the city to fade away behind them.
