Character History:

Zorith was raised in the depths of the Arcadian Ocean, off the coast of Mordant Spire. He had always been exceptionally bright and nimble, even for an aquatic elf. He showed skill at wielding rapiers from a young age, and had promise in the realm of wizardry as well. By the time he had come of age, Zorith could hold his own in matters of both sword and sorcery.

And so it was not difficult for him to get work doing what interested him. He began his professional career as a scout of sorts. Sent with a small team to map the sea floor of the northern Steaming Sea. It was during one such expedition that his team was ambushed by a party of Sahaugin warriors. They were ill prepared for such a fight, but Zorith's flashing blades managed to drive them back. Word of his skill in battle spread to those who decided to conscript him into the military. Much to Zorith's dismay, he was pulled away from creating maps and was instead sent off to do battle.

Despite not seeking out the battlefield himself, Zorith still proved to be a competent strategist. His cold and calculating mind was well suited to formulating effective battle strategies on the fly. He augmented his strategies with his own magics, but was unable to focus as much time on his spellwork as he might have liked. Still, in his spare time Zorith would consume any and all written materials he could get his hands on. He was a sponge for information, and he would always use what he knew to great advantage.

As the decades passed, Zorin went up in rank in the military and he was sent after more and more important targets. Sahuagin forces were always a potential target, but his crew were often sent after stranger threats as well. Like giant crabs poking their pincers where they didn't belong, or sea serpents that were disrupting trade routes. Even a Brine Dragon that was getting a bit too power hungry. Zorith loved the stranger encounters, and began collecting trophies from his exploits.

It was after a series of three epic (or even Mythic!) battles near the end of his centuries-long career that Zorith finally retired from military service. And after fending off a literal kraken, an Omnipath, and a Deep Sea Serpent, there aren't many who would deny that he had earned it. In his twilight years Zorith rekindled his love of studying wizardry and was reminded just how much he loved learning new spells. And he also realized how much he enjoyed collecting things. Whether they be trophies from his conquests, his collection of spells, or different styles of weapons and armors. He loved collecting them all. He wanted to collect them all. And why shouldn't he? The only real limitation was how much time he had left to do so.

And so Zorith got to work making sure he wouldn't run out of time. He focused his vast intelligence and arcane talents on uncovering the secrets of immortality. And to even his own surprise, Zorith succeeded! He discovered a mode (unique to himself) that would allow his body to avoid the ravages of time. He could now do as he pleased for as long as he pleased.

Zorith was smart enough to realize, however, that staying in his home on the material plane was no longer an option. Not a good one anyway. Eventually events would conspire to destroy whatever he might build. Whether it be shifts in land claims, a demonic invasion, or even a simple earthquake, eventually any home he built would end up threatened. And so he constructed his own little sanctuary secluded from all that. A personal demiplane where he could have everything exactly as he wanted it to be. A base of operations from which to plan, create, and relax.

And with all his preparations now in place, and nearly every penny spent, Zorith was ready to make his return to the material plane and see what excitement it had to offer him.
