Johann grew up in a small village at the edges of the great forest. There he dreamed of visiting the big city and seeing the tall spires of the Wizards and the Keep. For him, the idea of being his own man (and not having to pay rent to his land lords) always resonated well. So, at the age of 17, with a good penny saved from his apprenticeships, and after bidding his parents goodbye, he decided to see what his luck would be. With a few old heirlooms of armor, weapons, and equipment, he started down the road to the city.

Johann is a cheerful fellow of no more than 18 summers. He's usually well groomed, time and water allowing. He spent two of falls training with the town's militia, so he's familiar enough with a utilitarian spear and his old grand-father's chain mail (which he had to polish and oil for days to get the rust out). With a pack and some supplies, he embarked on the road and counted on his lucky starts to take him in the right direction.
