Fartho Littlebottom is a cook.  No really, he is.  You can tell by the smudge of flour across his thatch of curly brown hair, the stains on his apron, and his chapped hands.  Any resemblance said stains might have to spell components is entirely coincidental, and that scroll poking out of his pocket is simply a recipe.

Fine.  Maybe he is a wizard.  But for a little person, in a big-people world, especially one that thinks the slightest hint of magic means "Necromancer!", it's sensible to keep a low profile.  And that's Fartho, sensible as they come.  Other than that one time, when the Duke came to visit, and he put extra chillis in the bouillabaise, "to make things interesting".  Or, you know, when he's messing about with the fires of creation.

Having recently been offered a chance to do real wizarding work, and with the official sanction of the Duke no less, Fartho is enthusiastically setting out on what he hopes will be a great adventure.
