Known Background:

Hunter Tran is a Vietnam Refugee from the end of the Vietnam War and a Naturalized American Citizen.  He grew up during the war in the Republic of Vietnam (Southern non-Communist side) and when he was considered old enough, joined the Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN); which over the duration of the war was trained and supported by French and US forces.  He was initially an ARVN Medic and then worked his way into the ARVN Rangers.  He has training from Green Beret and SEAL "consultants" and worked with them towards the end of the war.

When Saigon fell in 1975 First Sergeant "Hunter" Tran Lam Hoai considered his options and then left his military life behind.  He packed a small bag and made his way out with a group of refugees.  Within a year or so he became a naturalized citizen and at that time formally Americanized his name to Hunter NMN Tran.

Known Family Background:

Family status unknown since the end of the Vietnam War.
Both his parents and younger sister were South Vietnamese citizens before the fall of Saigon, and he has not been able to get in contact with them since.
