Hullo, hullo!  Jody of East by and by, I am, a hobbit, by your leave, and a fine one, not a block-headed Bracegirdle from Hardbottle, but a Whitfoot. And everyone knows that some Whitfoots do the work - and very industrious are they - and other Whitfoots are more the friendly sort, and that’s what Jody is, the friendly sort. He’s got a song and a half, and is quick with a joke orn some pipeweed, cause sometimes a pipe is better than a yob.  Jody can play a tune, spin a tale, and walk a league.  He knows a little about a lot and a lot about a little.  He can get into spaces and out of scrapes.  He’s good at getting where he shouldn’t go, and he gets there without knowing sometimes the hows or the whys, but he always seems to be getting back.  And you, then?

Jody is hobbit, and but for the ginormous feet, seems as a 12 year old boy of the mannish type.  Not even 4 feet tall, he's got simple clothes, though his cloak is quite nice, and has a tall walking staff in his hand when it's not plunking a tune on a banjo or toodling on a set of pipes.
