Janik Crow

Name: Janik Crow curious Nano who exists partially out of phase.

Appearance: Crow is pale and thin with long light grey hair with a fringe that curious grey eyes studies the world around him. He stands just shy of 6 foot and has a wiry frame. His overall appearance makes him look older and weaker than he actually is.
He speaks in a soft voice which is both firm and clear but never seems to raise much above a loud whisper. Even in stressful situations he never seems to shout.

Personality: Crow is curious to the extreme his passion is all things Numenera and he will put himself in great danger if it means extending his knowledge or getting hold of the next big mysterious artifact.

Background: Janik Crow was found. It was never clear if he was actually born or made. Old Kelmar a travelling Nano found the infant in an abandoned complex by the old man.

At first Kelmar thought the infant was some sort of holo image as when he went to pick the child up his hands passed right though him but the Nano had a artifact that could sense life forms and it registered the child as living.

So the old man waited, and waited and waited for more than three days until the child's silent cries could suddenly be heard. Only then was Kelmar able to touch the child.

WIth no other choice the Nano took the child with him hoping to find a place where he could be left but every time the man placed him down for someone to take him the child would become intangible. It was if he would only allow the old Nano to touch him.

So it was Kelmar became the child's father, carer and mentor. It was his teachings that infused the growing child to question the world about him and it was the Nano that realised the boy could tap into the energy around them as he could to conjure magic out of thin air.

The boy grew into a young man and the old Nano grew older. Eventually the travelling stopped as Kelmar got too old to explore, Janik went out for the two of them finding numenera and bringing things back for the old man to study.

Returning from one trip he found Kelmar on the floor of their hut, he had fallen not long after Janik had left and had spent three days there. In a bad way the young man got him to his bunk and made him as comfortable as possible but the old man knew the end was close.

He instructed his son to fetch his chest from the study and from it pulled four Cypher and a pair of goggles which he presented to him. Then he told the young man to go out into the world and continue to unravel the mysteries of the land to record them and to learn to use them.
That night the old man passed and in the morning Janik Crow left his homes never to return. He now travels the land note book in his pouch recording all he sees and all he finds.
Sometimes he will work alone other times he will join a group out for adventure if there is a chance to find something amazing and new to study.
