Sun Ye is a half elf with Shou blood from her Shou Father. Her mother is Andune Van Ymir, daughter of the rulers of the Cloakwood. She is the result of her mother's dalliance with a Shou man when she was stationed in Kara Tur on a diplomatic mission. Because she is half blooded, and cannot inherit anything in the Cloakwood, she has chosen to take her Father's surname so as to not muddle any claims that might be put forward. Regardless of that situation, she is very much doted on by her grandparents. She opted to follow her father's path, and has trained as a samurai, and is a very capable warrior. She is also an artist as well, and a scholar, and is very knowledgeable in many areas. She is a beautiful, graceful woman, with dark hair, green eyes, she dresses in traditional Shou clothing, favoring the natural colors of her elven blood. She does not wear armor, and carries the traditional weapons of a samurai.

Sun Ye is handfasted to Arhaeclya Starspinner and the pair have been together for some time, starting first as friends, then blossoming into something much deeper and stronger. Arhaeclya has actually been to Kara Tur with Sun Ye, and has met her father and his family.
