Description: Diego is tan skinned, taking after his mother, speaking both English and Spanish. He has long, wavy dark hair and brown eyes. He has a neatly trimmed dark moist ache that travels just to the corners of his mouth which is often in a smile.

He wears a loose, high collared white shirt, tucked into simple cloth brown pants and sturdy mid-length leather boots. At his side hangs his cutlass and rapier along with two holsters each containing a flintlock pistol.

Personality: Diego is happy-go-lucky, encouraging singing and instrument playing on the ship, making sure his crew is well taken care of. Often if food is short or rum is short he will forego his own to make sure they do have what they need or want. He is quick with a smile or laugh.

Those who would think to take advantage should be cautious, for while he is kind he is not stupid. Diego believes in vengeance deeply, and will ruthlessly destroy those who truly slight or try to take advantage of him or his crew. He can be very distrustful of new people inwardly, almost to the point of paranoia as many pirates are killed by trusting the wrong sort or not watching their back.

History: Diego has long sailed the seas between Europe and the Caribbean since he was a lad of 17 on various pirating crews serving as everything from cabin boy to carpenter to bosun. Only recently has he obtained his own ship, and this would be his first captaining of a vessel.

 Of Spanish-English descent, he was the son of an English sailor and a lady of the night on an island city, taking his name from his mother. His childhood was rough, seeing many unpleasant sights both violent and otherwise in the brothel where he lived in a back room where he was often called to clean or serve drinks.

When he left on his first voyage it was a great day, and he often comments that, “A bad day at sea is better than a good day on land.” Sailing was his escape, his freedom from an unpleasant childhood.
