Stewart Koslov

Code name: Twitch

Alias: Stew, Stewie (hates both of them)

Age: 24

Physical Description: His body type has always been more on the scrawny side of things; he eats like a horse but looks like he eats like a bird. He’s not too intimidating but keeps in shape so he’s not easily breakable though he may act like he is. Eyes are dark brown and he has messy brown hair, he’s fairly average looking guy. Stewart dresses casually in jeans rotating out a small collection of faded shirts and hoodies; he owned a suit at some point in his life but has long grown out of it. There’s a tattoo of a fox on his right shoulder and a tattoo on his left forearm that says, ‘dream by day’ in Russian. Stewart has a long jaded scar on his hip from an old injury. At times, when he's been on his feet all day, it acts up and he has a hitch to his step.

Personality: He's quick-witted, sarcastic, and outspoken.  Stewart has trouble keeping his thoughts or attention on a single path, jumping from point to point in a way that makes sense to no one but him at times. He’s a little hyperactive and awkward. He fidgets ... a lot. He also tends to babble when he's nervous. Though he’s a friendly person, he’s cautious of others when it comes to putting his full trust into someone.

Motivation: He wants to make a difference. Up until a few years ago he had been content to keep to himself and live out his life unremarkably. One morning, he woke up feeling differently. It wasn’t like he had an epiphany or anything; he just wanted to do something.

Powers: Teleportation – by manipulating space, he can move instantaneously through it. He uses it a lot for short distance travel, from one spot to another in a room seemingly just blipping in and out. Long distance, if he’s been to the location before he doesn’t have trouble getting back to it. He can also travel just from seeing a photo, but it didn’t always work properly, and he’s ended up in a tree outside or some random spot within the location. Once, when he was younger he accidentally blipped into a shower that had just been turned on to warm up … luckily, he didn’t interrupt an in-progress one.

Weaknesses: If he gets shot or badly injured, it's highly possible that he might blip himself away without having control over it.

History: His father was Russian, his mother Polish. They married young and had him a year after. His mother died of cancer when he was twelve leaving his father to raise him alone. They didn't have any close relatives, so it became just the two of them looking out for each other, because of this he lived under strict rules, but he didn't ever really mind. As a child and into his early teenage years, he didn’t have a lot of friends. He started having night terrors, which typically only happened with younger children but for some reason his started later in life and then came the sleep walking (or teleportation as he figured out later). His father became aware of it after finding Stewart wasn’t at home and when he did hear from him, he was never close to home. The first his excuse had been amazing; Stewart had played it off like he’d just wanted to go on a grand adventure but the second time it happened he wasn’t as quick and ended up telling his father what had happened. Though he was worried, his father avoided taking him anywhere at first and Stewart didn’t mind, he’d never been a fan of doctors but did wonder why they were keeping things a secret.

He was a brilliant kid but because of his hyperactivity and scattered thoughts, a lot of people didn't quite get him as he got older. He had one or two people that were close to him but that was because he was embarrassed to have that discussion over his sleep walking issues. Not that he was invited to a lot of sleepovers but then he purposely stayed disconnected enough so that he wasn’t. It wasn’t until he reached the teenage years that it became apparent that he had special abilities, something his father had hoped didn’t carry on from his mother but to Stewart’s surprise, it had. It also answered the question as to why he hadn’t been taken to see a doctor after his father learned of his sleep “walking”. His father passed along a box of journals and things that his mother had left behind, instructions as she had put it. They helped little. He understood, from reading, what her abilities had been, but it didn’t teach him much about using them or controlling them.

When he was 15, he figured out how to teleport while he was awake and was overjoyed it wasn’t just something that happened when he had nightmares. He honed his ability over the next handful of years. Over that time, he kept a fairly simple life and managed to stay out of trouble. He worked at an auto shop (the old school wheels on the ground type) and led a solitary life aside from a couple friends from work. There were times (more than a few) that he used his ability in his teens to break into places because … well, it was kind of hard not to try it.

It was a couple years ago that he came to a life decision that he wanted to join the Special Services Force. At first he wasn't convinced that it was the right idea, but after two years of training Stewart was more annoyed with himself that he hadn't joined them sooner.
