Amir

“Among all the creatures of creation, the gods favor us:
We are the only ones who can empathize with their problems.”

- David M. Eagleman

The Basics

Name: Amir Adamos

Gender: Male (He/Him)

Age: Appears to be in his 20's

Lineage: Son of Amun-Ra

The Physical

Height & Weight: 5'11" and 156 lbs

Hair & Eye Color: Black shoulder length hair and brown eyes

Physical Description: Amir is a man of average height and average build. He's not exceptionally muscular or athletic like some demigods, nor is he godlike in the looks department. While he is an attractive man by human standards, he's not the type one would swoon over on first glance. Regardless, he seems to care little about his physical appearance, as his hair is generally unkempt and his beard often goes unshaven for weeks on end (not that he has much of a beard even when it is unshaven), giving him a more natural look than most.

He prefers comfortable and loose fitting clothes, keeping a casual look on his day to day, rarely straying into the formal territory unless absolutely necessary. Rhodes isn't in a cold climate by any means, but it is a bit cooler than he's used to, having called Egypt home for the last century. That said, when the temperature dips, he can sometimes be seen wearing a thin sweater or a hoodie.

Alternate Form: An average sized peregrine falcon. The falcon is 46 cm long, weighing 800 grams, with a wingspan of 99 centimeters.

Talents & Weaknesses

Skills: Amir has been around for quite a while, so he has learned many skills. However, his memory is not infinite, so things that don't make a lasting impression fade over the centuries. In general, he's skilled or at least familiar with most things that he comes across, but the more technical skills like computer hacking or mechanics and engineering are out of his reach. That said, he's a fast learner.

Powers: As a child of the sun, and of creation itself, Amir's powers are split between the two. He shares the supernatural strength, durability and speed of most demigods, though he is outclassed in those areas by the children of gods of those particular purviews (Heracles being the god of strength, for example).

K'iin (Sun) - Amir is powered by the sun, meaning he is weaker in the dark. He is able to absorb the sun's energy like a solar panel, and expend it as he wishes. However, when necessary he is able to form a miniature sun in his hands, which he uses for various purposes. While his powers are much more potent in the day time, he still has the same range of abilities when utilizing the miniature sun, though they are weaker in comparison. Bending the sun's power to his will, he is able to use it to create fire, burn his enemies directly, create light in the dark, or even use it to fuel his creation powers.

Kuxa’an (Life/Creation) - While Amir's sun based powers don't rely on his creation aspect, his creation powers do rely on the sun aspect. Without the power of the sun, much like creation itself, these powers would cease to exist. That said, his creation powers are much more potent during the day, but are accessible to a lesser degree at night or in dark places, when summoning his miniature sun. This aspect of creation can be used to cause rampant growth in plant life, cure wounds by birthing new cells, or even create new life altogether. This is limited, however. Amir is only able to create small creatures, like birds or squirrels, and only one or two at a time, nothing of consequence. He is still a demigod, after all, and has not yet ascended to the station of a deity of creation. Even though he is able to spawn these creatures, they are not under his control.

Ch’iich’ (Bird) - Ra was often depicted as a man with the head of a falcon. While Amir takes after his mother in her humanity, he is able to manipulate his own life force and physical body, in order to shapeshift into a falcon.

Vulnerabilities: Much like his father, who was once tricked by Isis, Amir's greatest weakness is in the power of his true name. It can be used to exploit his power, and command him personally. To avoid such an act, he has used aliases for the last century or so.

Amir's greatest fear, though it may seem mundane, is snakes. Thanks to Isis and her treachery in past millennia, Ra was weakened through a snake bite and nearly died. The snake, a creation of Isis herself, birthed Amir's phobia of the slithering beasts.

Under The Hood

Personality: Amir is a calm and collected man, though he can easily be seen as carefree, as he is laid back and casual in his demeanor as well as his attire. He is quite intelligent, with a penchant for dry humor, but it's obvious that he cares about those around him- whether they're friend, acquaintance or stranger. Amir cares for life, in general, being the son of a god of creation. It's difficult to get on the man's nerves, but abusing animals or bullying those seen as weak is a surefire way of doing so.

Behind the man's eyes is a sense of intelligence and curiosity in equal measure which never fades, even if he can be a little rough around the edges at times.

Backstory: Born nearly 3,000 years ago, somewhere around 750 BC, deep in the heart of the Mayan empire, Amir (not his original name, of course) spent his childhood in the arms of his loving mother. His father, a strong and proud warrior, was often away from home- leaving them little time to nurture any real connection between father and son.

At the age of ten, his powers revealed themselves, as he formed a miniature sun in the palm of his hand, and the plants around him began to grow uncontrollably. This revelation led those around him to believe that he was a child of the gods, even mistaking him as the progeny of the sun god, Kinich Ahau. While this did earn the godling unfettered respect among the community, it also tore his family apart, as his father became aware of his mother's infidelity. And in time, this jealousy drove his father to kill his mother and lock him away for years, deep within a tomb in a temple. Unable to die of starvation, age or any other natural causes, thanks to his divine blood, he was simply trapped. All alone in the dark of the tomb, with only himself for company.

Eventually, his father died of old age, leaving him trapped and forgotten in his prison for centuries to come. Over the many years of his imprisonment, he tried countless times to escape, training and honing his powers until they were strong enough for him to break free. It was difficult, being away from the light of the sun weakened him, but it gave the godling the chance to rely on his own strength, rather than that of the celestial body. In time, he honed his inherent abilities and destroyed the temple with an explosion of light, finally freeing himself and leaving his prison in ruins. After his escape, he went into hiding, as he adjusted to the world in a time not his own.

Much later, in the early 1900s, he was approached by a strange man, claiming to be an emissary of the Egyptian pantheon. The stranger invited him to visit Egypt, and promised that upon doing so he would learn the true nature of his birth, and the complications that came after.

Intrigued, the godling made his way to Egypt, where he sought after the gods and the answers they could provide. Upon meeting with the god king, Amun-Ra, he learned the truth. Many centuries prior, during a visit with close allies in the Mayan pantheon, Ra had bedded a Mayan woman who had caught his eye. The god had impregnated the woman in the process, though she was already betrothed to a well known warrior.

It was after this that relations between the Egyptian and Mayan pantheons began to crumble, leaving Ra with no access to his son. Unable to pass over the Mayan border without sparking a war, he was unable to help as the godling was locked away by the jealous warrior.

Amir spent the past century training and being groomed as Amun-Ra's heir, a potential successor of his throne.

When the titans were released and the war began, Amir was sent to the island of Rhodes, as an emissary of the Egyptian pantheon, to discern if their assistance was required. A few years after his arrival on the island, studying the Olympian Initiative as well as the events around the globe caused by the Titans and their allies, Amir reported to his father, requesting that Egyptian reinforcements be sent to bolster the Initiative's forces.

After a century in Egypt, honing his abilities under his father's tutelage, Amir is prepared for whatever comes next.

Connections: Amir has a close connection to Amun-Ra, and is well acquainted with many other Egyptian gods and godlings. He also has a working relationship with the Council of the Gods on Rhodes, as he has dealt with them many times in the past few years, when discussing the involvement of the Egyptian pantheon.
