The young human wasn't impressive in size.  He was athletic enough with the tan of someone who spent his time outside.  He had dark hair that looked like it had been crudely chopped off above the shoulder with a dagger.  He sported some growth on his chin but it was far from a full beard he might be able to generate were he older.  He had a hard look in his eye and held his chin in a way to make himself look tougher.

Booth, was recruited as a sailor at a young age.  He was fascinated with the ocean and spent his youth around the wharf.  He had been told his father was a sailor and he envisioned one day meeting the man.  As soon as a ship would have him, he was off to see the world.
