Ernest McTavish, Ph.D. (Harvard, 1893), chairman of the Archaeology Department at Miskatonic University, an expert in North and Central American cultures, seemingly more interested in spectacular finds than in meticulous fieldwork. He has made several important excavations of Mayan sites in Guatemala.
