When the Elves made their exodus from the lands of mankind to travel east, they did not all leave in unity. Many Wood Elves chose to remain and uphold their oath to protect mankind as they had done for ages prior - Odette was among their number. Though quiet and dutiful to the point of being seen as eerie by many, Odette remains a loyal defender of the common man as she moves across the realm, safeguarding the major routes and escorting travelers. She does so out of a sense of personal obligation and pride, thus does not charge more than a pittance for her services.
Odette strikes an imposing figure - garbed from head to toe in dark travel leathers, a fur-lined cloak, and the skeletal remains of some monstrous bird of prey that serves as a helm. Many mistake her as a monster herself at first brush and fear the glimpse of her luminous orange eyes peering through the trees. Though well-traveled merchants know that seeing her outline moving stealthily alongside their wagons on the road is a good omen; that they will be protected through the night. Because of Odette's distant nature and unsettling appearance, she has become something of a folk tale as word of her has traveled even further than she has; many know of her as some kind of benevolent boogieman figure and there's even been a few bard's songs about foolish bandits who earned her ire. Odette herself remains blissfully unaware of her own infamy.
