He appeared to be hanging on to the edge of his life as he clutched his thick neck in a failed attempt to stay the blood gushing from it. I could not tell if his haggard beard was red from birth or from the laceration below the left side of his jaw. Jiri and Karchev, two of the crewmen who brought him down to receive my assistance, told me the captain said I had another chance at freedom, as long as I could save this pirates life with my dark powers. With his neck gripped by my mouth, his life left his body. As Jiri and Karchev let out a sigh of disappointment, the dead pirates eyelids immediately shot-up, and a faint, red glow emitted from his eyes. I was able to ingest his blood, purify it, and return it back to him. His cold carcass became warm again and his organs started to function. It took me a few moments, but I could not rush this process. Much like traveling on a ship, it could not immediately set sail. It needed a strong, smooth wind. If I were to use my mysterious gift for good, then I would need time. Blood out...
Jiri and Karchev regained their enthusiasm until they tried to remove the pirate from my jaws. They screamed in horror and called for more of their crew to assist them as my being transformed into an abominable creature of the night: with a feral face, razor-sharp claws, and a supernatural strength, my true form burst forth. I went into a blood haze, where all I thirsted for was more blood. The more I indulged the more it seemed that I could not be satiated. Once more of the crew arrived and attempted to pull the man from my jaws, my grip resilient, his neck gave way. Blood in...
