Stefan Vrorlach

Physical Description:

Stefan is relatively short at 5'5" and just slightly stocky with a fleshy decadent physique and languorous body language that somewhat belies his dexterity and physical capabilities when it becomes absolutely necessary for him to act.

His skin is extremely pale, almost as if powdered, with dark veins showing around his temples. He's actually quite proud of that - but it is just his natural skin tone compounded with a life lived almost exclusively in the hours of darkness. His hair and beard are dark sable and just a little long, wavy and tousled. He has thick arching eyebrows and a prominent hawkish nose. His eyes are a too piercing steel grey.

He prefers clothing of expensive foreign materials and exquisite cut, but only in dark and muted shades with minimal ornamentation - black, grays, burgundy, browns. Stefan prefers to display his wealth and taste subtly. He typically wears a long black leather overcoat and knee high boots when out and about "on business" on the town. He wears a signature ring and pendant of a twisted braided design of iron, bronze and silver. It means something to him.

When in the city Stefan wears a number of knives and daggers about his person, not all of them hidden. Two of them ilbarsi knives of just shy of short sword length, slightly curved, with handles of dull ivory carved into the shape of naked women covering themselves. His "wanton ladies". Maybe he even knows how to use the pretty things?

He also wears a signature custom scent he has made of his own design of cloves, cinnamon, musk, and pomegranate oil.

Stefan is always accompanied his pair of large well-trained sable and black rippled mastiff-pitbulls "his Hell-hounds", Nyx and Pheobe.

Personality: Stefan is cynical, bitter and pragmatic to a fault. He finds morals to be a curious and fascinating thing, best left to others. He is a philosophical Cyrenaic (hedonist) and dedicated connoisseur of all the finer things in life (finely crafted goods, alcohol, drugs, women, art, books, food etc) without being dedicatedly greedy. Money is good, but primarily for what you can do with it. It comes and goes. Power, information, education, culture, and taste are the true hallmarks of a great man. He is equally capable of deep introspection, generous charity, and cold-blooded brutality and ruthlessness in  equal measure. Often at the same time. His weaknesses are hubris and gluttony. He makes sure everyone knows this. He is very candid about it.

What is known:
Stefan is a relative newcomer to the City of Thieves and his past before that is unknown and according to him, not of any interest or concern.. First appearing in the streets eight years ago, he established himself slowly and without making waves on the edge of the Silk Garden and Guild territory, first dealing in street drugs, then progressing up to black market goods, slaves and establishing himself as a pimp.

Now he owns a small but exclusive salon, "the Elysium", a known neutral ground for those wealthy and powerful patrons "in the know" where he continues to dabble in all of the above trades legal and discreetly illicit both, but to a higher, very select clientele. The Elysium is found by those members invited only in a dark one-way street on the very edge of the Silk Garden and Guild territory.

The Elysium is known for a small number of very skilled and discreet courtesans for company and pleasure, the finest alcohol, select drugs, an exquisite kitchen, art, music, performances, and even sometimes philosophical and/or political salon discussions.

Max guests no more than 50 at a time, often less.Membership and entrance by invitation only.Extremely expensive

Stefan is careful to avoid ruffling feathers and making enemies. He tries to make himself available and useful to all others in all the factions, the nobility, guilds, legion officers, and other players in the city.

Stefan has deliberately tried to keep his varied operations small enough to not be seen as a threat or competitor to any of the major players business or power-wise. He deals in courtesans, drugs, slaves, arts, antiquities, and black market goods. But just a little. At the same time he tries to advertise his usefulness to everyone.
