Appearance: Astrid has the silver/white hair of her Grey-elven people, and is over average height as their women go, standing just a bit over five foot.   Her eyes are slate-blue, in otherwise purely elvish features, harking back to some human ancestor.  They're good for a wide range of expression, including a naive look which hides a mind that is anything but.

Astrid (full elvish name Astridina Tyveilla) hails from the Vesve Forest.  There is human ancestry back on her mother's side, and some say that's what makes her crazy.

Okay, crazy is a little harsh -- but she is jaded, cynical, and has an unhealthy fascination (from the perspective of other elves) with the fast paced human world.   Astrid is also sort of loose with the truth, and the false promises she sometimes makes impel her to move on from one place to another, after someone has become unhappy with one (or more) of her fibs.

Still, Astrid isn't a terrible person.  She has the usual elvish love of plants and animals, even if she sometimes has condescending, one sided conversations with the latter.  She is also known to champion an underdog, often someone whose potential she sees that others have missed.
