Tobias Cromwell
    The captain of the Ogunquit. He was aboard one of the wooden ships that encounter the CSS Virginia (the Merrimack),and rumored to have abandoned ship before the order was given. Cromwell is constantly at odds with Keane. He is a stanch Democrat where most of the rest of the men are Republicans, and does not object at all to their slavery.
