Dr Montgomery Ashton-Psmith

Dr Montgomery Ashton-Psmith PhD
Professor, Department of Zoology
Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division
University of Oxford

Born and raised in the Cotswolds, Monty is the youngest of three brothers from a wealthy family. As a boy he loved exploring the fields and hedgerows near his country home, searching for slow worms, sand lizards and grass snakes. As he grew older his fascination with reptiles grew, especially crocodilians.

He attended boarding school at The King’s School, Worcester, attaining excellent grades. He then attended Merton College, Oxford, gaining a first class honours degree in Biology and a Masters in Zoology. After graduation he stayed on as a Research Fellow, completing his PhD on comparative breeding cycles of Paleosuchus palpebrosus and Paleosuchus trigonatus, dwarf caimans found in South America. He is now a teaching professor within the University, although currently on sabbatical.

—————

At first glance - A respectable looking academic in an expensive suit.

A second look - A tall man in his late 30s, starting to fill out around the middle but still in good shape overall. Always well turned out, often to be found with a decent whisky in one hand and a smoking pipe in the other. Enjoys company and a good chat with peers.
