The tale of the fairy sisters of Rannoch speaks of two fairy women. One is a radiant splendorous being while the other is terrifying and evil. Bound by birth, they cannot fight or slay one another so they play, using the people of Rannoch as their toys.

The Sorceress wanders the Caledonian Forest that surrounds Loch Rannoch. Few have ever seen her and those that do describe beauty and power beyond compare. Stories are told about her rescuing travelers from highwaymen, delivering food to lost hunters, and defending the hamlet from invaders. However, stranger tales tell of her enchanting men to stay with her for days and they return home with no memory.

Minael is a noble incarnate of the Houses of Silk and the Sun. Her domain is the intersection of community and the elements. She is the spirit who resides in that moment of perfect satisfaction when good weather and good company align.

Tall and beautiful beyond compare, Minael has long black hair and perfect pale skin, almost like a primeval Snow White. As with all nobles, she is ageless and flawless, seemingly perfect. Streaks of blue run through her hair, sometimes the blue of a clear sky, others the blue of a bolt of lightning. Likewise, her eyes, always a stunning blue, change their specific hue with Minael’s mood. Her ears taper to a slight point, giving her an elfin look.

Minael is perpetually content and optimistic. Of course, life generally works for her because she bends it to her desire. Minael and Mariel tend to fall into comfortable roles as hero and villain, which encourages Minael’s vision of herself as the protagonist.

Many of the tales told about her have a kernel of truth. She does indeed enjoy defending the innocent, although she dislikes harming those who lack malicious intent. Enchanting men for company is, of course, largely driven by the fantasies of the men of Rannoch.

However, with her empathic power, Minael finds it easy to bend those around her to match her mood. She is, after all, a spirit of good company so socializing is in her nature. Gathering a small collection of animals and people for a pleasant afternoon on the shore of the loch is one of Minael's favourite activities. Of course, editing the memories of any humans in attendance is a matter of security. Despite the amiable nature of her parties, she won't risk inquisitors or hunters.
