A vain, aging woman, Elsa is still attractive and knows how to use that to her advantage. Shrewish and cold for the most part, she is used to a life of influence. Tall and elegant, the raven hair now has strands of gray. She fights this daily with dyes and plucking but the gray is slowly winning.

Elsa is very angry that she must age and is not above taking it out on others. Socially important to the town, she is ignored at one's peril though no one actually likes her.
