As a child, Piper Pastore had the ability to observe every iteration of reality and every dimension. Due to the trauma, she experienced by seeing the accident that granted her brother his abilities, she suppressed her own. However, the abilities have recently started to return.
An illness which, caused her to experience visions of every possible version of herself, caused Pipers abilities to manifested at a young age. Her mother Jean, helped her through the transition and encouraged her to take up painting as a way to process what she saw. A few years later, Pipers twin brother Lucius had the accident which caused his spirit to begin traveling through alternate dimensions. Piper lost her gifts soon after. Statements Piper has made indicate that she resents her brother for robbing her of her gift.
Piper is currently makes her living as a painter. Her heavily-abstracted realism paintings are moderately successful; though, only enough to be sold in small local galleries. More recent works have shown indications that she may have regained the ability to see into realms of non-standard reality and some of the images have been identified by void engineers as beings they have encountered in their travels.
Piper meet her husband Nicole during an artist retreat in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Married and broke, the two moved from New Mexico back into Mendocino. Piper gave birth to twins, Lex and Morgan. Piper appears to be deeply unhappy and may be suffering from clinical depression. Her family is living in a cramped home with her father and brother. She has been arguing with the only gallery owner who will show her work. Her husband has been distant when hes not at the radio station, hes obsessively working on an experimental instrument called the laser harp. The couple barely talk anymore and Piper may leave him within the year.
