T-4D is an Advanced Analytics and Interpretations Droid, built with one of the strongest internal processing units ever created. There was a strong marketing push that there was so much extra computational power that the model could be fitted with a secondary duty or programming and function just as well as any other droid doing the same work as its primary. Although it met a niche audience who highly valued the models power and adaptability, it came at too high a price tag for most to find it a worthwhile investment.

A side effect of the raw computing power is a model more prone to memory wipes, or runnung the risk of a particularly errant personality, such as the one found in the model possessed by the Sith known as Shroud.
