Nightshade is a meta-human cross between a girl and a vampire bat. She has tremendous strength and resilience and with a little concentration she can transform her hands and arms into a pair of bat-like wings enabling her to fly or glide as bats do. She also possesses a bat's echolocation/sonar ability.

Her skin has soft light tan fur which becomes waist length chestnut brown hair. Nightshade has large pointed bat ears and sometimes visible fangs. Her eyes are black and at first glance, give the impression that she has no irises.

When not attempting to pass as a normal person she mostly wears loose t-shirts or blouses and jeans or sweatpants. On bright days she wears sunglasses, gloves and a large navy blue hoodie. She also has a pair of high soft boots that are worn but clean.

As Tarina Milosovich, Private Detective, she rides a purple and black Kawasaki Ninja 400 motorcycle. On her head she wears a matching helmet with visor, a matching figure fitting riding suit, boots, and at times a black backpack.
