Alyson Vaith is an unusual young woman who has decided to use the unique circumstances of her birth to further the good in the world for as long as she is able. She hails from a long line of proud knights, who have dedicated themselves to upholding peace in the lands of the goodly races. Her father in particular was a revered member of his Order, and was known far and wide as the Crimson Lance.

His family suffered for his success however, as an old Vampiric foe attacked Alyson's mother while she was still pregnant with her. Her father arrived and managed to drive off the Undead attacker, but the damage had been done. Her mother lived just long enough to give early birth to her daughter, before passing on. Alyson might have lived out the rest of her life in ignorance of these events, but fate had other plans. Her teenage years brought on many changes, but in her case, she showed some signs of Vampirism. Her father, recognizing that she must have gone through some changes during the attack, hid this fact from the world, and decided to utilize her dark strength for good.

Changing her education from that of being a courtier, he began teaching her the knightly arts. For more than a decade, she labored under his unyielding tutelage, and her own savage desires. Eventually, she found a way to focus her hunger. Among her father's many trophies was a cursed blade of blackened steel. Ebonfang. This dark sword almost seemed to feed on her hunger, easing it's hold on her. In exchange for wetting it's appetite, it promised her power. And so she has wandered the lands on a long Errantry Tour, shunning the company of her fellow knights. Hoping to use her dark power for good, and spite the evil within her and her weapon.
