Benjamin Preston

Benjamin is of average height for someone likely born after the bombs fell.  He's lanky and lean of build, though his clothing is bulky enough that it's not always the first impression people get.

Said clothing consists primarily of an oversized long jacket that nearly brushes the ground and includes a rather voluminous hood that casts enough shadow on Benjamin's face often enough that it's not always apparent he perpetually sports both goggles and a fabric mask that covers his head completely.  The jacket itself seems to be covered in a variety of fancifully written words and pictures.

The most prominent of which covers most of the back.

Those old enough (or familiar with the world that came before) would recognize most of the decoration on the coat as old commercial product logos.

Besides a large backpack loaded with all manner of what appears to be bulky items attached to the outside all of which are covered in various scraps of fabric to protect them from the elements, Benjamin carries a metallic walking stick burnished in a deep bronze color and with an 18 point star attached to the top which makes the implement just about as tall as himself.

The thing most people tend to remember about Benjamin isn't Benjamin himself, but rather the large mechanical bird of prey that's generally perched on his backpack.  It is obviously constructed from scrap parts but certainly demonstrates a level of precision that may have been referred to as "art" once upon a time.  The exterior is a mottled mixture of light blue and grey except for the top sides of the wings.  Over the 1.5 meter span of them there are a number of overlapping V shaped pieces paired in a triplet fashion and colored in a sequence of blue, white, and red.  Though the machines wings do flap when it takes flight several ducted fans built into the wings and a series of thrust vectoring nozzles built into the body seem to provide most of the lift needed for flight.
