History: Hope was born Willow Asha Blackburn on Naya Terra. Naya Terra is a world with a strong caste system most comparable to British India. There, as her talents were displayed, she found work in construction, driving or piloting vehicles and operating construction drones. But she had greater dreams and was a bit of an adrenaline junkie. With her silver tongue she was able to convince the local recruiter to get her into flight training despite her lowly birth.

Becoming a fighter pilot seemed to be the answer for her. She was off-world in an exciting career. But that came to a screeching halt when she refused to fire on workers protesting nonviolently. Having grown up in the same caste she understood their plight and couldn't stomach the idea. But even Willow Blackburn couldn't talk her way out of the following court martial and being drummed out of the military.

Things were going to become much more difficult for her, so Hope got off world as quickly as possible and chose to stick to the Anglicized version of her middle name as a nickname. Since then she has found whatever work she can as a pilot, moving about the sector and picking up the local tongues. While most of the piloting is less exciting than it had been, she does get to see new places, try new foods, and more. Now if she could just find some more exciting piloting work, she would be all set...
