Though the memories of his childhood and family have faded with distance and years, Matthias' taste for the expensive, and the refined features that come only from good breeding point toward a wealthy, privileged upbringing.  Amber-eyed, and with hair just a few shades darker, the Daeva's heritage is difficult to pinpoint through casual inspection, something European being the best guess of most.  There is just a hint of something foreign in the crispness of his vowels and the way he strings his words together, but that could easily be the result of an expensive education, though taken together this clearly seems to point to a history on the Continent.  Long limbed and lithe, Matthias moves with a precise decorum that becomes all the more engaging when he lets it slip just a bit, relaxing into the luxurious ease so well-suited to a boudoir or the shadowy back booths of his club.  The grace and coordination that comes so easily to him are rarely on better display than behind the bar as he dances his way from one combination to the next, mixing the most tempting aperitifs with a flare and panache that enspell his customers as readily as the drinks they imbibe.

Matthias dresses for the occasion, slipping in as easily amongst his wealthy clients as the raucous entertainers who attend him.  Most night see him arrayed in tailored shirts of light, sturdy material paired with deceptively flexible patent leather shoes, and perfectly tailored suits in a myriad of colours to suit the latest fashion.  Always accompanied with a gentleman's must-haves, Matthias' silver headed cane and engraved pocket-watch are as decorative as they are functional, distracting most from the weight of the iron at his waist.
