Appearance:

As an initiate of Vinga, Iskalla dyes her long reddish-brown hair bright red. It's usually neatly braided for convenience. Like most Heortlings, she's olive-skinned, with dark brown eyes. She wears a loose dress of fine wool over trousers, with an extra tunic and cloak in cold weather. Her usual weapons are a spear and round shield,

Her bearing is proud and self-confident, even a little haughty.

Background:

Her father, Rurik, was a successful warrior who settled down as a sheep herder after losing an arm. He married Leika, Iskalla's mother, and they had several children. Iskalla tried to be a dutiful daughter and help manage the flock, but she chafed at being stuck in one place. She always wanted to be on the move, to investigate, to explore. Iskalla was already a lay member of Ernalda, but after she helped her father kill a wolf that was threatening the flock, he suggested she should follow the path of Vinga instead. The family might be losing a barely-adequate sheep herder, but the clan would gain a warrior.

She is proud to have recently passed her initiation into Vinga.
