Description: Chico cuts an imposing figure, with a tall, barrel-chested physique and a weathered face that makes him look older than he is. Despite his burly stature, he carries himself well, and his piercing gaze belies a keen awareness beyond that of a simple thug. As a newcomer to America, he's yet to establish a reputation of any sort.

Background: Born to a poor carpenter in El Paso del Norte, near the border with the United States, Armand was the eldest of five children. He learned his father's trade from a young age, but when his father died, it fell to Armand to support his family. He struggled to make ends meet, until one day he was approached with a lucrative offer.

An American businessman was recruiting some men to help him establish a gold mine just across the border. With a promise of a substantial cut of the profits should they strike gold, Armand could hardly afford to refuse. So he crossed the border and began working at the mine, where he earned the nickname he now goes by.

Unfortunately, Chico's employer did not live up to his end of the bargain. When they struck gold, he made off with the money, leaving Chico and the other miners with nothing.

Chico has been wandering further west ever since, seeking what work he can find to help support his family back in Mexico.
