Born under the long shadow of her mother, an (in)famous Barbary pirate turned Condotierre, Alesse spent her life trying to measure up to her mother's impossible standards. This meant throwing herself into the viper's pit of the Free City's more dangerous neighborhoods, where she mingled with duelists, thieves, smugglers and other unsavory characters. An agile duelist and mercenary in her own right slowly making a name for herself, she recently suffered a grievous wound to the neck during a duel, turning her once melodious voice into a low raspy growl, earning her the new duelist name "Rasp".

A tall, lanky Half-Elf without an ounce of fat on her, her body honed to wield the blade. Her youthful appearance hides a cunning, calculating mind and an unflinching ability to end her opponent's life. A long gray coat hides the maroon-tinted leather armor she wears under, and two long curved knives hang low on her hip. She always wears a purple scarf around her neck to hide the ragged scar that runs across her throat.
