Gianni Ferrari III (Known as Johnny) is short and wiry with an almost feminine appearance. This is exaggerated by dark eyes to die for but perhaps offset by his habit of wearing reefer jackets and canvas pants and sometimes, especially when loading and unloading his boat, Lo Sagno de Miranda.

While some Associates carry guns, Johnny is notorious for his use of a hook or a marlin spike, tools of his trade as a fisherman or anything else he can lay his hands on as long as it was never meant to be a weapon.

His boat carries him to and from Miquelon, a French possession in the mouth of the St Lawrence River, usually via the Grand Banks where the cod practically jump out of the water.  That's in Summer.  In Winter, his route leads him South, to the Bahamas, Jamaica or even Haiti.

When he speaks, his accent would be pure New England were it not for the fragments he has picked up of French, Canadian and the lilting tones of the Islands.  Especially French.  Aboard Lo Sagno, he and his crew speak French.  The boat has a five man crew, as well as Johnny, there is Pauly Jackson (Johnny's Cousin, Johnny's dad lives with his sister, Johnny's Aunt and Pauly's Mum in Boston, Mass), Vinny di Lustro, Carly "Milano" Mancini and Jacques "Poutine" Reynard.

Johnny also has a half-sister, Miranda Sene, who lives in Quebec.
