Appearance:  Joshua DiAngelo is a skinny kid of average height for his age, with short, unruly brown hair and intense, but kid, brown eyes behind slightly tinted spectacles.  Most of the time, he has a serious expression, but, when he smiles, it lights up his face.
Outside of Hogwart's, Josh tends to dress for comfort and utility.  T-shirts under a sweatshirt or jumper, jeans, sneakers or hiking boots, a denim or leather jacket, and, sometimes, a scarlet ballcap with USMC in gold embroidered lettering.
Background:  Joshua DiAngelo is the son of James DiAngelo, a No-Mag former US Marine and middleschool History teacher, and Maggie Prayer, an Scottish auror for the Ministry of Magic, and a Hogwart's alumnus.  The two met at a restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky while Maggie was on a special assignment with MACUSA.  When they fell in love and decided to marry, James moved to Glasgow with Maggie because, while not strictly illegal anymore, relationships between Wizards/Witches and No-Mag's is still highly frowned upon by MACUSA.
Josh's older brother, Jacob had been a bit of a prodigy at Hogwart's, but he had also been known for going places and doing things he was not allowed.  By his fifth year, the year before Josh got his letter, Jacob was expelled.  Shortly thereafter, he disappeared.  Now that Josh is headed to Hogwart's, his parents feel they can take the time needed to search for their older son.
Josh is a bit worried about the rumour mill at the school, and believes people expect he will follow in his brother's footsteps.  Unfortunately, while Josh does not go looking for trouble, it seems to know where he is at all times....
