For a Jedi Master famed within certain circles for discovering more about the Galaxy than some entire species, meeting Raktala in the flesh tends to be something of a disappointment. Standing just below medium height for her species, she hardly fulfils the image of the intellectual colosses, instead moving at a slow shuffle and peering slowly out from under the heavy lids of her eyes in an almost grandmotherly manner.

Appearances, however, can be deceptive, and in the case of those who have sought to patronise Raktala, humiliating. Perfectly able to match wits with the best of the Galaxy, her dry tones bely a lightning sharp tongue and an unwillingness to suffer fools gladly have made her a legend in the halls of the Jedi Libraries, as well as occupying the bottom of a list of those to be selected for diplomatic missions.
