General Appearance: Emmett stands a respectable 5'11", just the way God made him. He is lean in appearance and has wild gray hair, piercing pale blue eyes and a stern face lined with wrinkles. He has a near perpetual scowl unless he's preaching, then he appears lively and less scowly.

Occupation: Fire and Brimstone Preacher

Personality: A deeply religious man, Emmett is concerned with the saving of souls. He is forthright and honest and unafraid to speak his mind as truth is the only way to cripple the Devil. He is a firm believer that everyone is going to Hell unless they repent and subject themselves to the will of an angry God.

About Your character: Emmett Swenson grew up in a Godless town with a whore-mother a drunk of a father, a weak-willed little brother and a dead baby sister. That's how he tells it anyway.
In reality he grew up well, was decently educated and had a family that worked hard but loved each other. They owned a small ranch and times were tough but they made it work.
He always had a passion for the scriptures, his mother took he and his brother to church every Sunday and he delighted in hearing about the Lord's righteous anger. It instilled something in him, the firm belief that humanity was doomed.
He moved away to follow and learn from Reverend Richard Dicker who led the famous traveling Old Fashioned Revival Hour. Emmett took in everything the old reverend had to teach him until they had a falling out over biblical teachings. The good reverend believed and preached of God's love and desire to save sinners but Emmett disagreed and knew deep in his loins that the only way to truly save oneself from the smiting fires of Hell was to fear God in all ways because you never knew when death would come calling and you'd be thrown into the burning, acrid lake of damning fire to writhe and scream for all eternity.
Years later, Emmett's niece Belle was sent to him after the deaths of her parents. Emmett tolerates her because she's blood and he works tirelessly to save her wretched, sin-infested soul.
In town he shepherds his own small flock of faithful fear believers, they call themselves The Church of The Quivering Brethren.
