Countess Melinda Horvath of House Horvath

Melinda is the eldest child of Reginald Horvath, who passed in the Patternfall War.  She is pale and comely with blond hair.  She is tall for a woman and quite statuesque.  Almost imposing.

However, she is very friendly and has an earthy sense of humor despite being properly educated.  She can also be fiercly determined and has shown a great deal of political and social savvy.  Much of revealed when she took over the Horvath estates.  Although, those that know her were not surprised.

While her and Gerard seem to be getting along quite well, she is accutely aware that her relationship could be temporary.  She is determined to make the best of it while she can and try to make sure she will continue to do well IF things change.  That being said, she is enjoying her time with Gerard (especially the trips into Shadow) and seems genuinely fond of him.

She adores her son, Zale, and shows it by constently pushing him.... politely.  Melinda has been in court long enough to know that doting mothers can be the death of noble children (sometimes literally).  So, she endevours to act appropriately in public.  In private she tries to be close to her son and... motherly.

Since the Incident damaged Amber significantly she has been working to rally the other houses to rebuild and defend Amber.  Especially those more 'rural' houses whose damage was minimal.
